Emerson: America’s consciousness prophet

Emerson is rightfully a strong and powerful candidate to reinvigorate a new American Transcendentalism, one able to accommodate that we are now mostly urbanized, but more to the point, able to insert a powerful and fresh vigor and legitimacy into the pursuit of a deeper awareness of the subjective world of consciousness.

This is a superbly written essay, which I nominate as a guiding document in what we might term the New Consciousness Movement.
