McDonalds and deeper discernment
I used to argue that the McDonalds of the world bear at least a degree of corporate responsibility for the poor nutrition they promote. The counter was always the same: but ‘we’ are the ones making the choice. Of course, these two opinions are not mutually exclusive. In a sense, one begets the other, but at times it is difficult to determine which came first. Not that the distinction really matters, because what truly matters is our collective and individual decisions to give up on the part of ‘thinking for myself’ that supports deeper discernment, discovery and wisdom.
