Ruy Teixeira Thank you for reading and commenting.

In your interview in The Atlantic, you stated,

“Anger is ultimately demoralizing. If you want to sustain a political movement over the long-term then optimism is essential. It’s what will keep people from throwing up their hands and giving up.”

I’d like to add…

Which is why focusing people on the left — and right — on positive, enduring principles, such as fairness, is vital.

It’s far easier to motivate people and get them to remember and practice a single, solid principle, than to wear everyone out trying to coordinate their 1000 issues and 10,000 interest groups.

Bruce Lee said,

“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”
