Death can inspire or depress us. For me, it can do both. The monumental and inescapable nature of it is something that we tend to shove and compress well out of view. But submerged or not, it’s like a nuclear ballistic missile submarine: a deadly and unseen threat, always patrolling and prowling the depths.
